Take The Tennis Hot Shots Challenge

Hot shotsMLC Tennis Hot Shots has launched an updated version of Tennis Hot Shots Galaxy, a fun tennis game that has been designed to encourage children to get on court.

While the first game was essentially a role playing game, Tennis Hot Shots Galaxy now gives players complete control of the action. Players can execute special moves including ‘Mega Forehand’, ‘Lightning Lob’, ‘Sonic Boom’ and ‘Atomic Smash’. These powerful moves are accompanied by exciting animations that in most cases win the point for the player who executes them.

‘Environmental elements’ in three new levels – Jurassic, Spooky and Galactic Opens – will also challenge the players. Players competing in the Jurassic Open will need to watch out for dinosaurs wandering by and a pesky pterodactyl that may swoop in from time to time and steal the ball. The game also encourages kids to get up and stay active through daily step challenges. Each day players are challenged to walk or run a certain number of steps, measured by a built-in pedometer. If the challenge is completed they are rewarded with coins that can be spent in the Pro Shop. Players can purchase items to kit out their player including headwear, T-shirts, shoes and racquets.

The game is available free from the App Store and is works on the iPhone, touch and iPad.

Prince Joins The Wii World

Good news for the miliions of die-hard Nintendo Wii Tennis fans!Prince_wii_tennis_3d

Prince has created a Wii Tennis racquet designed specifically to make the playing experience for gamers even more realistic and fun, as if it wasn't fun enough already, and they are arriving just in time for the 2007 holiday gift-giving season!

Around the globe, people of all ages have gotten up off the couch to engage in a new form of video competition that lets friends and families play “virtual” tennis against each other, complete with real footwork and real follow-throughs.

Players use the Wii Remote to mimic actions performed in real life sports, such as swinging a tennis racket. It measures which angle you use, can gauge top spin if you angle it forward like a normal racket, puts up lobs, backhands, etc. For the real tennis player, I have to admit, it did feel a bit strange to try and serve a remote.

Available in multiple colors, these safe, scaled-down racquets house the Wii remote and give players an unparalleled sense that they are playing a real match with a real racquet!

The Prince Wii Tennis racquets will be available beginning November 15, 2007 at all Circuit City locations as well as online at circuitcity.com.
